Having updated the parent website in Fall 2017, it was necessary to modernize the much outdated AASM Foundation website. Not only did the layout and overall organization need to change, but the branding needed to undergo similar changes to those of the parent brand.
With the new look also came a name change, requiring a new logo and copywriting standards to be created and implemented. In some cases, information such as past award recipients, previous leadership, donors, and annual reports included archives dating as far back as 1998. It was also important to maintain the typography and colors of the updated parent brand, while still maintaining this site as a separate entity with it’s own unique information.
A new logo was created, following the parent brands sub-branding guidelines. Restructuring the old content led to the creation of a main navigation that clearly shows site visitors what the company offers. The homepage now offers a prominent area to highlight upcoming deadlines, current opportunities, and spotlighted award recipients. Cleanly designed landing pages and a side navigation on interior pages ensure that readers can easily navigate through all content. Using unique imagery and different page layouts, the site has it’s own feel in comparison to the parent website. The AASM Foundation now has a modern website that it can proudly promote and use as a tool to gather donations, fueling research that furthers the field of sleep medicine.
